Your MS Mayfair Nile cruise begins with a pick-up from your location in Luxor to visit Karnak Temple, one of the most renowned monuments originally built for the rituals and religious ceremonies dedicated to Amun, Khonsu, and Mut. Afterwards, you will board the MS Mayfair Nile cruise, where lunch will be served. In the evening, you will visit Luxor Temple, situated in the Thebes Necropolis on the east bank of the Nile, known as one of the best-preserved ruins in Egypt with much of its structure remaining intact. Finally, you will enjoy dinner and spend the night on board.
After breakfast onboard, your private tour guide will accompany you to explore the remarkable monuments of Luxor’s West Bank, including the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs such as Ramses II, Tutankhamun, and Thutmose II of the 18th and 19th dynasties were buried with their magnificent treasures for the afterlife. This site is considered the largest burial complex in history. Next, visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and conclude your day with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon—two sandstone statues approximately 18 meters tall, built by Pharaoh Amenhotep III on the Nile’s west bank. You will then return to your cruise for lunch and begin sailing to Edfu, where you will spend the night onboard.
You will be transported by horse carriage to explore Edfu Temple, an exemplary representation of remarkable Ptolemaic architecture, renowned for its distinctive design, exquisite decorations, and captivating pylons. Lunch will be served onboard as you cruise to Kom Ombo to visit Kom Ombo Temple, built from local limestone between 332 and 395 BC during the Ptolemaic period, situated at the historic site of the legendary conflict between Set and Horus. Continue sailing to Aswan, arriving late at night.
Enjoy breakfast before your personal Egyptologist guides you through the wonders of Aswan, including a remarkable visit to the Aswan High Dam, Egypt’s southern stronghold that protects the country from Nile flooding. Next, visit the Unfinished Obelisk, the largest obelisk ever constructed, commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut. Afterwards, explore Philae Temple, relocated to Agilkia Island and known as the primary place of worship for the goddess Isis. You will then be driven back to the MS Mayfair Nile cruise for lunch, followed by a relaxing afternoon. In the evening, enjoy entertaining performances and a delicious dinner onboard.
After breakfast, embark on the MS Mayfair Nile cruise, followed by a private air-conditioned transfer to the Abu Simbel Temple. This beautifully adorned temple was primarily built by Ramses II to commemorate the pharaoh’s triumph at the Battle of Kadesh and served to honor the gods Ra-Harokty and Ptah. Lunch will be served at a luxury restaurant in Aswan, after which your driver will escort you to your accommodation in Aswan.
