The Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid of Khufu, located in Egypt, is the largest pyramid in the region. Built during the 4th Dynasty around 2570 BC as the tomb for Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC), it remains the only surviving wonder of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Standing at a height of 146.6 meters (481 feet), it was the tallest pyramid for over 3,800 years. Karnak Temple

The magnificent Karnak Temple is a sacred religious center located in the heart of Thebes, serving as the hub for religious, artistic, and political activities. Its construction spanned approximately 2,000 years, from the Middle Kingdom to the Hellenistic period, between 1971 BC and 20 BC. The temple was dedicated primarily to the Theban Triad of the 18th Dynasty: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Notable features include the grand hypostyle hall, various shrines, pylons, and the avenue of sphinxes.

Valley of the Kings

The enchanting Valley of the Kings can be accessed through a golden entrance located within a mystical hill in the Theban Necropolis, which lies underground. The Valley comprises 63 tombs belonging to kings and queens from the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC), spanning from the 18th to the 20th dynasty. It serves as a tribute to many royal figures, including Tutankhamun, Seti I, Amenhotep, Hatshepsut, Thutmose, Ramses the Great, and others. The site offers valuable insights into the religious beliefs and funerary customs of this prosperous era.

Hatshepsut Temple

The stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is a rock-carved masterpiece that exemplifies the excellence of ancient Egyptian art and architectural style. Constructed in 1479 BC by her chief architect Senenmut, the Overseer of Works, it was built to honor her position as the High Priestess of the creator god Amun. The temple was designed to receive the Barque of Amun-Re and to depict the entire life cycle of the pharaoh, from coronation to rebirth.

Colossi of Memnon

The remarkable and enduring seated statues of the Colossi of Memnon, created by Amenhotep III, are magnificent masterpieces dating back to 1350 BC. These statues, standing 18 meters (60 feet) tall, were erected at the site of the ruined temple of Amenhotep III (1391–1353 BC). Along the sides of the statues, there are 107 inscriptions from the Hellenistic period that narrate the legendary story of the Greek mythological king Memnon.

It fractured within the bedrock during the carving process and now stands as an impressive open-air museum, demonstrating the techniques employed by ancient Egyptian artisans and builders.

Philae Temple

The sacred and timeless walls of the celestial Philae Temple, located on Agilkia Island, represent a masterful blend of art and architecture. Constructed during the Ptolemaic period between 380-362 BC, it was dedicated to Isis, the goddess of motherhood.
