Memphis was central to the establishment of one of the most remarkable civilizations on Earth, founded in 2925 BC as one of the earliest capitals by King Narmer. It was originally called Hut-Ka-Ptah, meaning “Enclosure of the Ka of Ptah,” which was later translated into Greek as Ai-gy-ptos, the etymological root of the name “Egypt.”

Saqqara Step Pyramid

The Saqqara Pyramid is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece designed by the esteemed Imhotep, the vizier of Pharaoh Djoser, in the 27th century BC. It marked a transformative development in ancient Egyptian construction, introducing monumental pyramids accompanied by expansive complexes and courtyards.

Dahshur Pyramids
