Giza Pyramids Complex

The Giza Pyramids Complex is one of the oldest historical landmarks, dating back over 4,000 years. It includes the three major pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the Great Sphinx—the guardian of Egypt—and the valley temple, which was used to help the pharaohs ascend to the heavens and secure their eternal legacy.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu

The Great Pyramid of Khufu is a historical landmark, being the only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Built around 2580 BC, it is over 4,500 years old and represents the pinnacle of pyramid construction. The pyramid was completed in 20 years using 2,300,000 limestone blocks, reaching a height of 147 meters (481 feet), making it the tallest building in the world for nearly 3,800 years until the Lincoln Cathedral in England was completed in 1311 AD. Its intricate interior design, relative to its massive size and scale, has fascinated visitors from around the globe.

The Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx represents the embodiment of strength and wisdom and is the oldest known statue. It stands 73 m (240 ft) long and 19 m (66 ft) high, depicting a mythical creature called the sphinx, which has the body of a lion and the head of a man, likely King Khafre, also known as King Chephren.

The Valley Temple

The Valley Temple is a mortuary temple renowned for being the site of the mummification process since Egypt's Old Kingdom. It is among the best-preserved monuments of ancient Egyptian civilization, constructed entirely from limestone and granite, and houses remarkable diorite statues of Chephren.

Lunch Time

Enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Pyramid or the Nile, followed by a visit to:

The Egyptian Museum

Established in 1901 in the historic city of Cairo, the Egyptian Museum provides visitors from around the globe with a remarkable journey to explore the world’s most extensive collection of archaeological artifacts, varying in shape, size, and material.

Flight: From Cairo to Aswan

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

In the early morning, enjoy your breakfast before continuing your Cairo, Nile Cruise & Alexandria tour, exploring the captivating tourist attractions of Aswan, beginning with:

The High Dam

The Aswan High Dam was built between 1960 and 1970 with assistance from the Moscow-based Hydroproject Institute to improve control over Nile flooding, generate hydroelectric power, and increase water storage for irrigation in its reservoir, Lake Nasser. Following its completion, the dam threatened the Abu Simbel and Philae Temples, but they were fortunately preserved through a remarkable UNESCO-led archaeological rescue mission in the 1960s, one of the most complex in history.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The Unfinished Obelisk is an exceptional monument unlike any other. It was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) to be placed at the entrance of the Karnak temple alongside the Lateran obelisk, which currently stands at the Lateran Palace in Rome. Known as "Tekhenu," meaning "to pierce the sky," the obelisk reached a height of 42 meters and weighed 1,200 tons, demonstrating the precise methods used in obelisk construction. The obelisk cracked during its fabrication and remains in its original location to this day.

Philae Temple

Philea Temple is a stunning and authentic tribute to the goddess Isis of Love and Beauty. It is renowned for depicting the "Myth of Osiris," where Osiris, the husband of Isis, is killed by his brother Set out of jealousy and hatred. Osiris is then resurrected to become the ruler of the underworld, and Set is ultimately defeated by Isis and their son Horus, the sky god. In the 1960s, the temple was relocated to Agilkia Island as part of a UNESCO-led rescue operation following the construction of the Aswan High Dam and the subsequent flooding of Lake Nasser.

At the end of the day, return to the Nile cruise for lunch and dinner, followed by an overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

In the morning, you will have breakfast on the cruise before departing for:

Kom Ombo Temple

Visit Kom Ombo Temple with your tour guide, known as "The Hill of Gold." It was built during the Greco-Roman period between 205 BC and 180 BC, under the rule of Ptolemy V. Kom Ombo is renowned for its unique architecture, featuring a distinctive double design split into two identical sections: one dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the other to the falcon sky god Horus.

Return to the cruise for lunch and proceed with the voyage to:

Edfu temple

Edfu Temple is a remarkable landmark, being one of the final temples constructed during the Ptolemaic period between 237 BC and 57 BC, serving as the official place of worship for the sky god Horus. It was built on the site believed to be the location of the battle between the god Set and Horus, as described in the Osiris Myth. The architecture and interior of Edfu Temple are exquisite, blending Greek and Egyptian styles in an exceptional manner.

Continue sailing to Luxor and enjoy an overnight stay on the cruise. Dinner will be served onboard.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

On day five, have breakfast and check out from the Nile Cruise. You will then be accompanied by your tour guide and board a private air-conditioned vehicle to continue your 7-day tour of all the major tourist attractions in Luxor, beginning with:

Valley of the Kings

The Valley of the Kings serves as a passage to the afterlife and a gateway to the heavens for the most prominent kings and queens of Egypt's New Kingdom (1570-1070 BC). Recognized as one of the world's most significant archaeological sites, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. The valley houses 63 tombs, containing numerous remarkable artifacts, intricate decorations, and the remains of pharaohs such as Ramses (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, IX, X), Amenhotep I, Hatshepsut, and the renowned boy-king Tutankhamun.

Hatshepsut Temple

The Hatshepsut Temple is a prime example of the elegance and grandeur of the New Kingdom period (1550-1070 BC) and features the impressive statue of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Ancient Egypt's most successful rulers. Also known as Deir El-Bahari, the temple was originally called Djeser-Djeseru (Holy of Holies). Designed in 1479 BC by Hatshepsut's chancellor Senenmut, it took 15 years to complete. The temple's design is inspired by Classical Architecture and contains some of the most remarkable decorations and statues in Egypt.

Colossi of Memnon

The Colossi of Memnon are ancient statues believed to protect the city from harm. These two massive quartzite sandstone blocks, each standing 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weighing 720 tons, depict Amenhotep III (1386-1350 BC). Although significantly damaged by a major earthquake in 27 BC, they were restored in 199 AD. During the Greco-Roman period, the statues gained fame for the legend of the "Vocal Memnon," as they were said to emit a singing or crying sound at dawn, which was actually caused by the wind passing through the statues.

Lunch Time

Your tour includes a boat trip on the Nile River, during which you will enjoy lunch on an island. The tour concludes in Luxor with visits to the following sites:

Karnak Temple

Karnak Temple is one of the most sacred archaeological sites globally and ranks among the largest man-made structures and open-air museums in the world. Known for over 4,000 years as Ipet-isu, meaning "The Most Selected of Places," and Pr-Imn, the "House of Amon," it served as the religious center for the entire ancient Egyptian kingdom. The complex was primarily dedicated to the Theban triad: the god Amun, his wife Mut, the goddess of justice, and their son Khonsu, the moon god. It also honored other deities such as Osiris, Montu, Ptah, and Isis. Spanning two miles, the complex contains more than 25 temples and chapels, including numerous obelisks, sanctuaries, and groups of columns that commemorate the heroic achievements of the Pharaohs.

Overnight

Finally, proceed to Luxor Airport to board the flight to Cairo, then check in to a 5-star hotel for an overnight stay.

Flight: From Luxor to Cairo

Overnight: Cairo Hotel

Start your day with breakfast, then travel to Alexandria, known as the Bride of the Mediterranean, to continue your Cairo, Nile Cruise & Alexandria tour. Accompanied by a private Egyptologist guide, explore some of the finest tourist attractions in Alexandria, including:

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa

The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa are a unique example of foreign art in Egypt, showcasing the blend of ancient Egyptian culture during the Greco-Roman Period. Built as a necropolis in the 2nd century AD, it seamlessly combines Hellenistic and Roman artistic elements with traditional ancient Egyptian Pharaonic design in an impressive manner. The three-level structure houses numerous Greek and Roman artifacts and decorations, earning it recognition as one of the seven wonders of the Middle Ages.

Pompey's Pillar

Pompey's Pillar is a magnificent ancient Roman monument. It is the largest monolithic column constructed outside of Rome, standing 28 meters tall and 2.7 meters wide, made entirely of red granite. On its upper western side, there is a Greek inscription dedicated to Emperor Diocletian. The pillar was named Pompey's Pillar because, during the Middle Ages, the Crusaders mistakenly believed that the remains of the great Roman general Pompey were housed in a container at the top of the column.

Lunch Time

Lunch will be provided at a seafood restaurant, followed by a visit to:

Qaitbay Citadel

Qaitbey Citadel is a unique fortress embodying the legacy of the Lighthouse of Alexandria. It was built in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Saif Al-Din Qa'it Bay, featuring exquisite Islamic decorations. The citadel stands on the same site that once housed the magnificent Lighthouse of Alexandria, constructed using stones salvaged from the ruins of the lighthouse, which was the third longest-standing ancient wonder until it was destroyed by a series of earthquakes between 956 AD and 1323 AD.

Alexandria Library

The Alexandria Library is one of the largest and most modern libraries globally, serving as a tribute to the ancient Library of Alexandria with an impressive architectural design. It houses the world's sixth-largest Francophone library. The collection includes books in Arabic, English, and French, featuring the largest repository of French literature in North Africa and the Middle East. Additionally, it offers stunning art galleries and some of the rarest book collections worldwide.
