It was built by Amenhotep III (1391 – 1353 BC) and expanded by Ramesses II, dedicated to the gods Amun and Ra-Horakhty. Located just 50 KM south of Aswan Dam, the area features a stunning row of lion-headed sphinxes at the temple entrance.

- 12:30 Visit Abu Simbel Temple: The grand temples of Abu Simbel, dedicated to Amun, are remarkable symbols of divinity and greatness. Built by Ramses the Great (1279–1213 BCE) between 1264 BC and 1244 BC, they honor Ptah, Ra-Horakhty, and Amun-Re. These temples are famous for the Sun Festival, which takes place twice a year, in October and February, when the sun illuminates the inner sanctuary. Additionally, the small temple of his wife Nefertari, dedicated to Hathor, stands just 100 meters away, showcasing Ramses’ deep admiration for his queen.
