Details:

We will collect you from your hotel in Luxor and transfer you to Luxor train station for your journey to Aswan. Upon arrival, your expert tour guide will accompany you to explore the finest historical sites in Aswan, including:

Aswan High Dam

The Aswan High Dam represents Egypt's initial venture into the era of industrial advancement. The construction of the High Dam began during the presidency of Gamal Abd El Nasser in the 1960s. Nonetheless, there were earlier efforts to build a dam during the reign of Fatimid Caliph Al-Hakim Bi Amar Allah in the 9th century.

The Unfinished Obelisk

It is essentially a large, dormant granite structure and a 3,500-year-old monument dedicated to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut during the 18th dynasty. The monument was abandoned after cracks appeared in the rock. Some historians believe that if the obelisk had been completed, it would have measured 42 meters in length and weighed 1,200 tons.

Philae Temple

The Philae Temple, located along the Nile, is a stunning monument initiated by Ptolemy II and completed by the Romans. This temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis from the Ptolemaic period, was constructed between 380 and 362 BC. Isis is a significant deity, believed to be the protector of kings and the bringer of life, having resurrected Osiris and given birth to Horus.

Abu Simbel Temples

The Abu Simbel temples are among the most remarkable ancient sites in Egypt, built by Ramses II, also known as Ramses the Great (1279-1213 BC), and completed in 1264 BC in the far south of Egypt. The complex includes two adjacent temples carved into sandstone cliffs. The larger temple is dedicated to the pharaoh himself and features an entrance flanked by four colossal statues seated in pairs, each standing 20 meters tall. Twice a year, sunlight reaches the four seated statues of Amun Ra, Ptah, Re Horakhty, and Ramses II due to the temple’s unique orientation.
