Giza Pyramids Complex

In 2600 BC, the Giza Pyramids Complex was constructed, becoming one of the most remarkable archaeological wonders in history, symbolizing the power, glory, and elegance of the ancient Egyptians who built this monumental structure.

The Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid, the largest, tallest, and the sole surviving wonder of the seven wonders of the ancient world, was built for Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC) in 2570 BC as his tomb. Standing at 138.5 meters (454.4 ft) tall and weighing approximately 6 million tons, it consists of 2.3 million limestone blocks, each weighing around 2.6 tons. The pyramid’s sides are aligned with the four cardinal points of the compass. The king’s chamber is regarded as an exceptional example of remarkable architectural design.

The Great Sphinx

The monumental Sphinx is a grand mythical statue commissioned by Pharaoh Khafre (2558–2532 BC) to depict his own facial features, serving as a symbol of wisdom and authority. The Sphinx was carved from a single massive block of limestone, measuring 73 meters (240 ft) in length, 20 meters (66 ft) in height, and 19 meters (62 ft) in width. The Dream Stele of Thutmose IV (1401–1391 BC) is located between its paws, recounting legendary stories.
