The three remarkable pyramids are the main highlights of the complex, with the largest pyramid recognized as one of the world's enduring wonders.
Situated on the sacred grounds of Giza is the legendary Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC), which was the tallest man-made structure in the world from its completion around 2570 BC for over 3,800 years. It originally stood at a height of 138.5 meters (454.4 ft) and was constructed using approximately 2.3 million limestone blocks, with a total weight of around 6 million tons. The pyramid is precisely aligned with the four cardinal directions and remains the last surviving monument of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The Sphinx is the remarkable lion statue located at the center of the Giza Complex, serving as a powerful emblem of strength and bravery. This enormous limestone monument, dedicated to Pharaoh Khafre, was constructed during the 4th dynasty.
The Valley Temple, constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of King Khafre, is a significant structure built for purification and mummification in the sacred ritual known as the Opening of the Mouth Ceremony, as well as serving as a funerary temple to accommodate rituals and major religious festivals.
