The Giza Pyramids Complex is the most prominent historical landmark in Egypt, dedicated to the kings of the 4th dynasty. Situated on the Giza Plateau, it was established by Pharaoh Cheops, who commissioned the largest pyramid at the site. Numerous legends suggest that 100,000 workers were involved in its construction.
The remarkable and awe-inspiring Giza Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC) offers a profound glimpse into the extraordinary power and spirituality of one of the greatest civilizations in history. This pyramid is the largest ever built, completed in 2570 BC, and remains the oldest and sole surviving monument among the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. It stands 38.5 meters (454.4 ft) tall, aligned precisely with the four cardinal points, and is constructed from 2.3 million limestone blocks, totaling approximately 6 million tons in weight.
The Sphinx is an exceptional example of ancient human engineering, crafted from granite and sculpted to resemble a reclining lion with the head of Pharaoh Chephren (2558–2532 BC), symbolizing his enduring power and wisdom. This monument is located to the northwest of the Pyramid of Cheops.
It is attributed to Pharaoh Chephren and was built on the edge of a small lake connected to the Nile, which facilitated the transportation of building materials to the site. The temple features striking pink-granite columns and 23 magnificent statues of Khafre. It was designed to host the mummification ceremony known as the opening of the mouth ritual.
The Grand Egyptian Museum serves as a magnificent gateway to the extraordinary ancient Egyptian masterpieces, reflecting 5000 years of continuous innovation and remarkable artistic creativity. Inside this monumental marvel, visitors have a unique opportunity to explore some of the most significant archaeological monuments and artifacts ever discovered, including:
The Hanging Obelisk, the statue of King Ramses II, the ten statues of King Senusert, the grand staircase, statues of Ptolemaic kings and queens, the victory column of King Merenptah, the magnificent royal regalia, and the grand atrium with gift shop.
A VIP ticket grants access to view several additional artifacts. For further details, please contact us.
