Egypt Has Eased Its Covid-19 Entry Protocols

As of June 16, 2022, Egypt has officially removed all Covid-19 entry requirements for travelers. This means that visitors are no longer required to present vaccination certificates, PCR tests, or rapid antigen tests upon arrival — regardless of nationality, passport type, or residency status.

 

The decision, taken by the Egyptian Cabinet in coordination with the Supreme Committee for the Management of Pandemics, aims to simplify travel procedures and encourage tourism. While the announcement was not widely publicized through official channels, travelers arriving since late June 2022 have confirmed that no Covid-related documents are being requested at the border.

 

Current Entry Requirements:

 

• A valid passport
• $25 USD in cash to purchase a visa on arrival

 

This updated policy significantly streamlines the travel experience to and from Egypt, removing testing requirements on both arrival and departure. Travelers can now enjoy their journeys with less stress, time, and cost.
