After breakfast at your 5-star hotel in Cairo, our Egyptologist guide will meet you to embark on an extraordinary journey exploring some of Egypt's most remarkable treasures, including the following sights:
The Giza pyramids complex was built during Egypt's Old Kingdom to last for eternity, with the structures there dating back over 4,500 years. The ancient pharaohs made great efforts to prepare for the afterlife, which is why they constructed temples and tombs to honor their gods and ensure their preservation.
The remarkable King Khufu (2558–2532 BC) was the initiator of the Pyramids Project. In 2570 BC, he commissioned the construction of the largest and most magnificent pyramid in history, which served as his final resting place. This pyramid later gained recognition as the only surviving wonder among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is composed of over 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing approximately 2.6 tons, and all four sides of the pyramid are aligned with the four cardinal directions of the compass.
One of the world’s most remarkable sculptures is situated on the west bank of the Nile River and is closely linked to ancient Egypt. The Sphinx features the head of King Khafre (2558–2532 BC), who ruled Egypt during the 4th dynasty, and the body of a lion. It offers a fantastic opportunity for memorable photographs. In 1401 BC, Thutmose IV (1401–1391 BC) added the famous Dream Stele to highlight his lasting legacy.
You will then arrive at the remarkable Valley Temple of King Khafre, which is connected to the king's pyramid by a causeway. Constructed from monolithic granite blocks, the temple houses exquisite statues of the king. It was the site of the "Opening of the Mouth" ceremony performed on the bodies of the 4th Dynasty.
The Grand Egyptian Museum serves as a magnificent gateway to the extraordinary ancient Egyptian achievements, showcasing 5,000 years of relentless innovation and remarkable artistic creativity. This monumental institution offers a unique opportunity to explore some of the most remarkable archaeological monuments and artifacts ever created, including:
The Hanging Obelisk, the Statue of King Ramses II, the Ten Statues of King Senusert, the Grand Staircase, the Statues of Ptolemaic Kings and Queens, the Victory Column of King Merneptah, the magnificent Royal Regalia, and the Grand Atrium with Gift Shop.
A VIP ticket provides access to view several additional artifacts; for further details, please contact us.
At the conclusion of the day, you will visit the Pyramids View Restaurant to have your lunch.
Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
