Giza Pyramids Complex

The journey begins at the Giza Pyramids, Egypt's most famous landmark, featuring three magnificent pyramids that have stood for thousands of years. These pyramids served as the tombs for the most renowned pharaohs of the 4th dynasty.

The Great Pyramid

The most remarkable pyramid at the site is the grand Giza Pyramid of Pharaoh Khufu (2609 BC - 2584 BC), which held the title of the tallest man-made structure in the world for 3,800 years, reaching a height of 138.5 meters (454.4 ft). It is precisely aligned with the four cardinal directions of the compass. Among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this pyramid is the only surviving marvel, featuring the extraordinary King's Chamber, a testament to exceptional architectural ingenuity.

The Great Sphinx

A colossal statue featuring a human head and a lion's body is permanently located at the center of the Giza Plateau. This sculpture, crafted from local limestone, is thought to have been constructed during the reign of King Chephren (2558–2532 BC). Although historians have long debated its form, they concur that the iconic Sphinx represents power and wisdom.

The Valley Temple

Located just a short distance from the Great Sphinx, you will encounter the remarkable Valley Temple, believed to be the residence of Pharaoh Chephren. Built around the mid-26th century BC, this temple originally served religious functions and was later used for the mummification of kings and nobles in preparation for the afterlife.

The Grand Egyptian Museum

The Grand Egyptian Museum serves as a magnificent gateway to the extraordinary achievements of ancient Egyptian civilization, showcasing 5,000 years of continuous innovation and exceptional artistic creativity. This impressive institution offers a unique opportunity to explore some of the most remarkable archaeological monuments and artifacts ever discovered, including:

The Hanging Obelisk, the Statue of King Ramses II, the Ten Statues of King Senusert, the Grand Staircase, Statues of Ptolemaic Kings and Queens, the Victory Column of King Merneptah, the magnificent Royal Regalia, and the Grand Atrium & Gift Show.
