Details

In the morning, you will be transferred from your hotel in Makadi to Luxor in a private air-conditioned car. Upon arrival, you will meet your tour guide who will accompany you on your private day tour of Luxor to explore its ancient Egyptian treasures, beginning with:

Valley of the Kings

The mystical necropolis of the royal rulers of the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC), the Valley of the Kings, contains 63 remarkable tombs belonging to Ramses II, Amenhotep I, Seti I, Tutankhamun, and many others. The extraordinary artwork found throughout these tombs provides valuable insights into the religious beliefs, mythical stories, and burial practices of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties.

Hatshepsut Temple

The Hatshepsut Temple, situated in the historic region of Thebes, is one of the most remarkable and enchanting artworks. Constructed in 1479 BC by Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC), it was dedicated to her position as the chief priestess of the creator god Amun. This temple serves as a rich source of valuable insights into her legacy and the classical architectural achievements of this extraordinary era.

Lunch Time

You will have lunch prior to proceeding to:

Colossi of Memnon

The paranormal Colossi of Memnon, created during the reign of Amenhotep III (1391–1353 BC), were sculpted from quartzite around 1350 BC. Each statue stands 18 meters (60 feet) tall and weighs approximately 720 tons. The statues have undergone numerous reconstructions, particularly during the Greco-Roman era. They provide valuable insights into the legendary warrior king Memnon, as well as information about his family, religious practices, and accomplishments.

Karnak Temple

The Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to the Theban triad of the 18th dynasty, is a magnificent religious and cultural monument that has endured for over 2,000 years, built between 1971 BC and 30 BC by numerous kings and rulers. It primarily served as the worship center for the gods Mut, Amun, and Khonsu, along with several other deities. This vast complex is the largest of its kind, featuring remarkable artistic architecture of Thebes, including the hypostyle hall, pylons, shrines, the Avenue of Sphinxes, and more.

Your Luxor day tour will conclude with a private air-conditioned car transfer back to your hotel in Makadi.
