Details

On the first day, an air-conditioned vehicle will collect you from your hotel in Makadi Bay to start your two-day tour from Makadi Bay to Luxor and Abu Simbel. Upon arrival, a private tour guide will be ready to escort you through the sites:

Valley of the Kings

The renowned Valley of the Kings is a sacred underground complex containing 63 tombs of prominent rulers from the New Kingdom period (1570 – 1050 BC), including Rameses II, Seti I, Amenhotep I, Thutmose I, Tutankhamun, Hatshepsut, and others. Located in the central area of the Theban necropolis, it highlights their remarkable legacies and accomplishments.

Hatshepsut Temple

The magnificent Hatshepsut Temple is an exquisite example of timeless architectural art, built to preserve the legacy of Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC). Completed in 1479 BC, it stands as a remarkable symbol of royal authority and grandeur, sculpted into the cliffs of Deir El Bahari under the direction of Senenmut, the overseer of the works.

Colossi of Memnon

The magnificent Colossi of Memnon are two majestic quartzite statues of Amenhotep III (reigned 1391–1353 BC), crafted during the New Kingdom around 1350 BC. They were later restored, reconstructed, and altered during the Hellenistic period. This remarkable work of art, along with the 107 Greco-Roman inscriptions, narrates the legendary tale of Memnon.

Lunch Time

Lunch will be provided on an island, accessible by a boat trip along the Nile, after which you will proceed to:

Karnak Temple

The magnificent Karnak temple complex is an extraordinary example of grand artistic architecture that has endured through the ages, constructed between 1971 BC and 20 BC in the heart of Thebes. It served as the center of Egypt for 2,000 years during the Middle and New Kingdoms, where the Theban triad of the 18th dynasty—Khonsu, Mut, and Amun—was worshipped alongside various ancient Egyptian deities. Features such as the hypostyle hall, Avenue of Sphinxes, pylons, and shrines highlight the complex’s status as a priceless treasure.

Abu Simbel Temples

One of the most well-preserved and comprehensive archaeological treasures discovered in Egypt showcases the extraordinary legacy of Pharaoh Ramses the Great (1279-1213 BC). He completed the temple in 1264 BC to immortalize his legacy, commemorate his victory at the significant Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC—which concluded with the signing of the world’s first known peace treaty—and, uniquely, to honor his wife, Queen Nefertari, who was beloved by the goddess Hathor.
