Details

In the morning, we will collect you from your hotel in Aswan and introduce you to your private Egyptologist tour guide to begin your 4-day Christmas Nile cruise, starting with visits to Aswan's top tourist sites:

Aswan High Dam

The groundbreaking High Dam of Aswan, constructed in the mid-1960s, provided Egypt with a valuable opportunity to advance into the industrial era, safeguard the country from floodwaters, and generate electricity.

The Unfinished Obelisk

The most significant open-air museum in Egypt is the Unfinished Obelisk, carved directly from the bedrock to be erected at the Karnak Temple under the orders of Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC). However, it broke during the carving process, which was intended to achieve a total height of 42 meters and a weight of 1,000 tons.

Philae Temple

The revered Philae Temple features the iconic "Myth of Osiris" depicted on its massive, enduring walls. Constructed between 380 and 362 BC and expanded during the Ptolemaic era from 282 to 145 BC, it is one of the last and best-preserved temples dedicated to Isis, the goddess of motherhood.

At the end of the day, transfer to the check-in area for the 5-star deluxe Nile River cruise and spend the night on board. Lunch and dinner will be provided on the cruise.

Good morning, enjoy your breakfast and prepare to begin a tour of:

Kom Ombo Temple

Located along the banks of the Nile River, the uniquely dual-designed Kom Ombo Temple is one of the last ancient Egyptian temples constructed between 180 BC and 47 BC during the Ptolemaic period, dedicated to two deities: Haroeris "Horus the Elder" in the northern section and Sobek, the crocodile god of the Nile, in the southern section.

Next, proceed with your 4-day Christmas holiday cruise in Egypt, sailing to Edfu and staying overnight. Lunch and dinner will be provided onboard the cruise.

In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast before joining your guide for a tour of:

Edfu Temple

Edfu Temple, one of the largest and best-preserved temples in Egypt, was constructed on legendary grounds where the battle between the sky god Horus and Set took place. Built between 237 BC and 57 BC during the Ptolemaic period on the west bank of the Nile, the temple served as a powerful symbol of divine strength and protection.

Continue your cruise to Luxor and spend the night onboard. Lunch and dinner will be provided on the ship.

Overnight: Onboard the Cruise

After breakfast, check out from the cruise and get ready to conclude your Christmas vacation in Egypt by exploring the tourist attractions of Luxor, beginning with:

Valley of the Kings

The renowned Valley of the Kings is an extraordinary subterranean labyrinth rich in history and treasures, comprising 63 tombs belonging to the most notable kings, queens, and influential nobles from the 18th to the 20th dynasties of the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC). This valley offers remarkable insights into the ancient religious beliefs and burial customs of that period.

Hatshepsut Temple

The Hatshepsut Temple, considered the most complete and extraordinary architectural masterpiece, stands as a stunning symbol of beauty and grandeur. Carved into the cliffs of Deir El Bahari in 1479 BCE by the overseer of works Senenmut, it was built to commemorate her accomplishments and her position as the principal golden wife of Amun.

Colossi of Memnon

The iconic Colossi of Memnon have endured through the centuries since their creation in 1350 BC by Amenhotep III. These seated statues stand approximately 18 meters (60 feet) tall. They have been restored multiple times, providing valuable insights into Amenhotep III’s life, family, and beliefs through the inscriptions engraved on the statues.

Lunch Time

Savor your lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor, followed by a visit to:

Karnak Temples

The Karnak Temple Complex, the largest religious site in the world, was built between 1971 BC and 30 BC, spanning from the Middle Kingdom to the Ptolemaic era. It was dedicated to the Theban triad of the 18th dynasty: Mut, Amun, and Khonsu. The complex showcases remarkable architectural marvels, including the Hypostyle Hall and the Avenue of the Sphinxes, among others.

Finally, we will transport you to any desired location in Luxor to conclude your 4-day Egypt Christmas Nile cruise holiday.
