Giza Pyramids Complex

Standing for over 4000 years, the complex includes three pyramids, six smaller pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.

The Great Pyramid

Built for Khufu around 2580 BC, it took 20 years and 2.3 million limestone blocks to complete. At 147 m tall, it was the tallest structure in the world for nearly 3800 years and remains the only surviving ancient wonder.

The Great Sphinx

This limestone guardian with a lion’s body and human head is believed to represent King Khafre. Known in Arabic as Abu Al-Hawl (Father of Terror), it is one of the most iconic monuments in Egypt.

The Valley Temple

Constructed during the Old Kingdom, this mortuary temple was used for mummification. Built from limestone and granite, it houses diorite statues of Khafre.
