The Great Sphinx: The Sphinx is an iconic monument representing the lion’s body and the Pharaoh’s head. It was constructed to symbolize the Pharaoh’s power and serves as a guardian of the Pyramids. The Sphinx measures 73.5 meters in length and 20 meters in height, making it one of the largest and oldest monuments on Earth.

The Valley Temple: The Valley Temple is linked to the Egyptian Mummification process. It dates back to the Old Kingdom (2580–2560 BC) and was built to purify the pharaoh’s body for the afterlife. The temple houses a giant limestone statue of King Khafre, who is believed to have constructed the temple.

The Grand Egyptian Museum: The Grand Egyptian Museum is a significant museum dedicated to Ancient Egyptian civilization, showcasing an extensive collection of artifacts, including the famous statues of King Ramses II, his queens, and his royal family. The museum's collection spans over 5,000 years of history.

Saqqara Step Pyramid: The Saqqara Step Pyramid, created by the architect Imhotep, is a remarkable architectural phenomenon and one of the most important structures in the history of ancient Egypt. Built as the first monumental stone structure, the pyramid is famous for its unique step-like design and its status as the prototype for later pyramids.

Memphis City: Memphis was the capital of Ancient Egypt during the Old Kingdom and is home to the massive statues of the Pharaohs, including the famous statue of King Ramses II. It holds significant historical value, as it served as the political and religious center of ancient Egypt for centuries.

The dam was constructed as a joint project between Egypt and the Moscow-based Hydro Project Institute, aiming to control annual floods and generate hydroelectric power. The dam was crucial for the relocation of the Abu Simbel and Philae Temples, which were saved by UNESCO in the mid-1970s.

The Unfinished Obelisk: The Unfinished Obelisk is a massive stone structure that was commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut during the 18th Dynasty (1508-1458 BC). It was carved to be the largest obelisk of the ancient world but was abandoned during construction. If completed, it would have stood at 42 meters tall and weighed over 1200 tons. It now serves as a stunning open-air museum, showcasing the techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to carve large monuments.

Lunch Time: You will break for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your tour to the next attractions.

Philae Temple: Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis, the goddess of motherhood, is one of the most significant ancient structures in Egypt. Built between 380-362 BC under the reign of Pharaoh Nectanebo I, the temple is located on Agilkia Island and tells the mythological tale of the “Myth of Osiris.” The temple was relocated during the 1970s as part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, ensuring its preservation. The temple is a masterpiece of Egyptian architecture, depicting the story of Isis and Osiris in grand detail.

These remarkable structures were built by King Ramses II (1279-1213 BCE) and are renowned for their monumental scale and intricate carvings. The primary temple is dedicated to Ramses II, known as the "Temple of Ramesses, Beloved by Amun." The temple was designed to commemorate Ramses II's victories, including his legendary battle against the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh. The Abu Simbel complex includes two temples: the larger temple dedicated to Ramses II, which is aligned with the sun's rays during the Sun Festival on February 22nd and October 22nd, and the smaller temple dedicated to his beloved wife, Nefertari. These temples remain a spectacular symbol of ancient Egypt's engineering marvels.
